WEBINAR SUMMARY
UniClub is a university-linked social initiative that aims to support refugees and migrant youths in getting a foothold on the education system in Austria. UniClub provides free learning support in groups as well as individual tutoring as a full week programme during the entire academic year. The entire approach is based on the voluntary involvement of teacher training students as tutors and “Study Buddies”.
The webinar provided the opportunity to experience the “UniClub“ via first hand experiences of its participants (including project staff, students and teachers). It illustrated its inclusive character, which is displayed not least by the mutual learning relations between all of its participants. Certainly, such a specific environment does not grow out of nowhere – everyone who takes part in it creates it.
